<br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: Damsite surveys and exploration pro- <br />gram are still in progress on Bixby Dam. Preparation of designs and <br />specifications are in progress for the Government camp and have been <br />completed for the access road. Design data are nearly complete and <br />the preliminary designs should be initiated early in fiscal year <br />1949. Costs to June 30, 1948 were $402,428. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />GRAND RIVER UNIT (21) <br /> <br />Description: Plan for development of the Grand River Basin con- <br />sists of construction of Shadehill and Blue Horse Dams. Shadehill Dam <br />is located below the junction of the north and .south forks of the <br />Grand River near Shadehill, South Dakota, and will be an earthfill <br />structure about 80 feet high, with a crest length of 1,500 feet. The <br />reservoir will have a capacity of 134,000 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Program FY48 ($820.000): Designs for Shadehill Dam will be com- <br />pleted and a contract awarded. Designs for the Government camp will <br />be completed.and a contract awarded. Canal designs and specifications <br />will be completed. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: Damsite surveys and exploration program <br />have been completed and designs and specifications are in progress. <br />Designs and specifications for Government camp have been completed and <br />a contract has been awarded for construction. Costs to June 30, 1948 <br />were $592,151. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />RAPID VALLEY PROJECT (DEERFIELD) (22) <br /> <br />Description: The project is located at the eastern edge of the <br />Black 'Hills in South--Dako.t~. It will furnish water to a small area of <br />new lands along Rapid Creek~-~and--an_a_c}.ditional supply for municipal <br />water will be made possible by storage--1n-DeerfJeld Reservoir. Deer- <br />field Dsr.1 is an earthfill structure 110 feet high-,-witha~Pl'est length. <br />of 825 feet. Capacity of' the reservoir is 19,000 acre-feet.--- -- - -- <br /> <br />Program FY48 ($46.000): Only general cleanup work in connection <br />with the construction of Deerfield Dam and reservoir were scheduled. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY~: Scheduled work was finished and the dam is <br />complete. Costs to June 30, 1948 were $45,242. <br /> <br />GLENDO UNIT (24) <br /> <br />Description: Glenda Dam and powerplant will be located on the <br />North Platte River, approximately 6 miles southeast of Glenda, Wyoming. <br /> <br />40 <br />
