<br />000022 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />REGION 6 HEADQUARTERS (10) <br /> <br />Description: Temporary demountable housing units for Goverrunent <br />employees were erected in Billings, Montana, and were substantially <br />completed on June 30, 1947. <br /> <br />Program FY48 ($56.000): Work scheduled includes minor work on <br />utilities and maintenance, and a certain amount provided for contract <br />settlement. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY{&: Work sqheduled has been completed. Costs <br />to June 30, 1948 were ~i38,164. <br /> <br />SUN RIVER (DRAINAGE) PROJECT.Jll) <br /> <br />Description: ~un River Project is located on the Sun River, west <br />of Great Falls, Montana. The project is prepared to supply water to <br />107,000 acres. Water is diverted from the North Fork of the Sun River <br />into Pishkun Reservoir, and thence into the Sun River ~lope Canal for <br />irrigation of the land. <br /> <br />Program FY48 (~30.000): Work scheduled includes drainage work by <br />Government forces. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: Scheduled work was essentially completed. <br />Costs to June 30, 1948 were ~31,526, or ':)1,526 in excess of the program. <br /> <br />YELLCIvlSTONE PUHFING mlIT (12) <br /> <br />Description: Yellowstone pump units, 26 in number, are scattered <br />along the river in southeastern Montana. These units comprise a total <br />of 94,460 acros of irrigable land, with individual units ranging in <br />size from 350 acres to 14,600 acres. Each unit will be irrigated from <br />an individual system supplied by a pumping plant, lifting water from <br />the Yellowstone River or from existing canals heading in the Yellow- <br />stone River. Pumping lifts vary from 15 to 184 feet. <br /> <br />Program FY48 (G481.000): The program provides for starting con- <br />struction of the Savage Unit during fiscal year 1948. Work will <br />include construction of main and relift pumping plants, canals, lat- <br />erals, and completion of studies and execution of the repayment <br />contract. Preconstruct ion studies are to be continued on Sadie Flat, <br />I.larsh, Seven Sisters, and St:i.pek Units. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: Invitations were issued for two pumping <br />units for the Savage pumping plant; also, for construction of a sub- <br />station at Savage, Montana.
