<br />Program FY48 ($865.000): Schoduled work includes completion of <br />aggregate explorations, construction of the Govornment camp and county <br />road relocation, completion of designs and specifications for the dam <br />and powerplant and award of a contract for the dam. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: The contract for relocation of the county <br />roads was 85 percent complete at the end of the fiscal year, with 70 <br />percent of time elapsed. Five contracts were in force for construc- <br />tion of residences, buildings, and utilities for the Govornment camp. <br />Specifications were ready for issuance on schedule, but changes in <br />powerplant capacity requirements has occasioned considerable design <br />changes, resulting in a delay. Revised specifications are expected to <br />be issued in July 1948. Costs to June 30, 1948 were $862,137. <br /> <br />MILK RIVER (DODSON) PROJECT (8) <br /> <br />Description: The pumping unit is loce.ted on the Milk River, <br />north of Dodson, Montana, and will have a capacity of 30 second-feet <br />and a lift of 20 feet. The irrigatod area will be 1,660 acres. <br /> <br />Program FY48 ($10.000): Minor work with Government forces is <br />scheduled for completion on the pumping plant, canal and lateral, <br />and drainage systems. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: Work scheduled was essentially completed <br />at the end of the fiscal year. Costs to June 30, 1948 were $7,858. <br /> <br />prn~DER RIVER UNIT (Moorhead) (9) <br /> <br />gescrintion: Moorhead Dam is located on the Powder River, 3-1/2 <br />miles dow::lstream from the Nontana-Wyoming State Line. An earthfill <br />dam, with a maximum height of 150 feet and a length of 2,350 feet, <br />will create a reservoir with a capacity of 490,000 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Pr9E.r.?:m }i'Y.~8 ($l.OOO.OOQ): Work to be accomplished includes com- <br />plet:i.on cf tc~,ographic surveys, exploration program, and a drilling <br />program at the damsite. Designs and specifications for a Government <br />camp will be completed and construction started during the latter part <br />of the fiscal year. Local roads leading to the damsite will be <br />graveled prior to start of construction of the dam. <br /> <br />Accomplishments FY48: The damsite survey and exploration pro- <br />grams have been completed and designs and specifications have been <br />initiated. Construction of a temporary camp has been completed and <br />designs and specifications arc practically complete for the main camp. <br />A contract for graveling 35 miles of access road was completed. <br />Costs to June 30, 1948 were $984,307. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />36 <br />
