<br />, 0000l'L <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />The second supplemental appropriation act of 1948 provided <br />$6,400,000 for continuation of construction on the following 13 aams: <br />Bixby, Bonny, Boysen, Cannonball, Cedar Bluff, Cultertson, Dickinson, <br />Enders, Heart Butte, Keyhole, Moorhead, Narrows, and Shadehill. Of <br />these 13 dcms, only 3, Boysen, Heart Butte, and Enders, ,were actually <br />under contract at the close of the year, although minor contracts <br />were let for Goverrunent housing and access roads, where required, for <br />all dams. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Thirty-two separate construction contracts were in force at the <br />ctart of the fiscal year and 50 were in force at the end of the fis- <br />cal yoar. Twenty-two individual contracts were completed during the <br />Year. <br /> <br />There wore 28 contracts in force during the year for various <br />buildings, residences, and utilities for Goverrunent camps. The major- <br />ity of this construction was for temporary houses an4 buildings <br />located adjacent to major construction features. <br /> <br />The total program for fiscal year 1948 for projects or units in <br />C9nstruetion status was 355,150,664. Costs to June 30, 1948 were <br />(\46,122,656, or 84 percent of the total funds available. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />A description of each project or unit in the Missouri Basin, <br />together with a brief statument of the program for fiscal year 1948 <br />and the accomplishments for tho year, are contained on succeeding <br />pages. <br /> <br />The numbers accompanying each project or unit name refer te <br />similar nunbers on the basin map showing the Bureau of Reclamation <br />construction program. <br /> <br />15 <br />
