KEYHOlE UNIT Description: Koyhole Dam ,and Reservoir will be located on the Belle Fourche River in Crook County, Wyoming, in the Cheyenne River Basin. The resorvoir will impound 320,000 acre-feet of water for re- lease down the river to provide supple!llCntal ;rater for the existing Belle Fourche Project. In addition to the conservation capacity, there ;rill be 50,000 acre-feet for silt control and 140,000 acre-feet for flood control, giving a total capacity of 510,000 acre-feet. The dam ;rill be an earthfill structure 109 feet above the stream bed, ;rith a total crest length of 3,300 feet. Program FY49 Funds available, $552,534. Construction ;ras to be com- pleted on the access road and temporary camp, and ;rork ;ras to begin on Keyholo Dam. Accomplishments FY49 Costs to June 30, $457,812. Contracts ;rere completod for 10 residences and ;rork is under;ray on the utilities. Construction has not started on tho dam although specifications are scheduled for issuance August 1949. an CREEK UNIT Doscription: This unit is located on Owl Creek, a tributary en- tering the Big Horn River near Thermopolis, Wyoming. The conservation and control structure ;rill be Anchor Dam, a concrete structure rising 156 fect abovo the river bed and having an approximate length of 525 foet. The reservoir ;rill haw a total storage capacity of 17,300 acre- feet, of ;rhich 800 acre-feet ;rill be dead storage; and 16,500 acre-feet of active storage to provide supplemental irrigation for 15,580 acres of land in the Owl Crock Valley. Other featuros include the North Fork Diversion Dam, the North Fork Diversion Canal and North Fork Return Canal. Program FY49 Funds available, $218,103. Construction ;ras to start on the Government camp and speci- fications ;rere to be issued' for Anchor Dam. Accomplishments FY49 Costs to June 30, ()175,709.
