Ad-
ditional generating plants will be constructed on the Colorado-Big
Thompson Project, one at Kortes, and one at Glendo in the North Platte
River District. It is proposed to connect all Government generating
plants in this area with an interconnected transmission system, as
well as private power systems, so as to join a network for delivery of
both firm and seconda!'y power to important load centers, utilities,
munieipalitios, cooperatives, industrial plants, and for irrigation
pumping and construction purposes.

Transmission lines arc an essential part of several other proj-
ects in the Basin. Additional data are contained in this report under
Fort Peck, Colorado-Big Thompson, Kendrick, and Shoshone Projects, and
also under a special article entitled, "Power Program in the Missouri
River Basin".

Program FY49
Funds available, 05,188,508.

Work was scheduled to con-
tinue on the ililliston-
Garrison lino and to start
on the Heart River system,
and tho Caspar-Gering and
Fort Randall-O'Neill line.
Tho Goring-Alliance, Glendo-
Lusk, Cheyonne to Pine
Bluffs, Sterling to Sidney,
and Gering to Sidney lines
were to be completed.
