<br />. <br /> <br />000156 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />C. Authority <br /> <br />Chapter 149, Article 1, Section 18, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1963, and designation by Governor John A. Love by letter <br />of January 4, 1967. The aforesaid Section 18 was adopted by the <br />Colorado Legislature in 1967 and states as follows: <br /> <br />"149-1-18. Assent to water resources planninq act. - <br />(1) The state of Colorado, by and through the Colorado water <br />conservation board, hereby assents to the provisions of the act <br />of Congress entitled 'Water Resources Planning Act,' approved <br />July 22, 1965. The Colorado water conservation board is hereby <br />authorized, empowered, and directed to perform such acts as may <br />be necessary to the conduct and establishment of a comprehensive <br />water planning program as defined in Title III of said act and in <br />conformity with such rules and regulations as may be promulgated <br />by the water resources council pursuant to said act. <br /> <br />(2) There is hereby created a fund designated as <br />'federal aid water planning fund' to which shall be deposited all <br />sums contributed to the state of Colorado by the federal govern- <br />ment pursuant to Title III of the water resources planning act. <br />All monies deposited under the provisions of this section are <br />hereby specifically appropriated to the Colorado water conservation <br />board for the purposes specified in said act of Congress and no <br />such monies shall be expended for any other purpose." <br /> <br />D. Coordination <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board gives assurance <br /> <br />that: <br /> <br />(1) In carrying out the state water and related land <br />resources planning program, consideration will be given to rela- <br />tionships to other planning by the state or other governmental <br />entities within the state with the view to attaining consistency <br />among the several planning programs; <br /> <br />(2) The economic and other relevant assumptions and <br />projections to be used will be in harmony with those of other state <br />planning programs; <br /> <br />(3) <br />personnel, and <br />programs; and <br /> <br />Optimum joint use will be made of equ~ment, <br />existing data among the various state planning <br /> <br />2 <br />
