0937

.

For the period April through September, Busk-Ivlmhoe imports were
determined from a probability curve, exhibit 2, based on historic imports
from 1949 through 1964 distributed monthly on the hasis of similar
historic years. Native inflow for this period was based on a probability
study, exhibit 1, based on the same period and distributed in a similar
manner. Fryingpan-Arkansas project imports are based on a probability
Shldy, exhibit 2. Homestake project imports were considered zero in
May Imd June because of channel problems, and to vary according to
water availability in July, August, and September. For the most probable
conditions, imports for those three months are at a rate of 30 c. f. s. ;
under rer.sonable minimum conditions there were no imports by Homestake
considered, and under reasonable maximum conditions imports were at a
rate of 60 c. f. s.

.

Outflow from Turquoise Lake for water year 1971 was considered the
same for all three conditions in the period Octooor through March.
Releases to High Line Canal (Busk-Ivanhoe) were considered zero.
Releases of native water were considered zero durIng October, November,
and December when CF&I's storage right was considered operative and
equal to native inflow in January, February, and March. Homestake
releases a steady 30 c. f. s. to Trout Creek, but early in the water year
this release is made by exchange with Pueblo Water Board from Twin
Lakes. During April through September, the outflow for CF&I releases
and High Line Canal releases were considered the same as those actually
occurring in water year 1970. Homestake's release was 30 c. f. s. to
Trout Creek and project water equal to minimum imports, 16,200 acre-
feet, was delivered to the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy
District in August and September.

Under minimum inflow conditions, the project ownership at the end of
water year 1971 would be 10,300 acre-feet. Water for the inactive pool
in Pueblo Reservoir is not required until the fall of 1973. Therefore, two
additional seasons of imports will be available to accomplish this purpose.
Dnder most probable conditions, the plan shows 26,800 acre-feet in
project ownership at the end of water year 1971. By the fall of 1973,
39,000 acre-feet will be required to fill. the inactive pool.

Table 4 is a tabulation of the water year 1971 proposed operation of
Turquoise Lake, and exhibit 6 is a graph of this operation.

.

12
