Water can <br /> <br />be delivered at the rste of 215 gallons per minute from either <br /> <br />the well or the city pipe line to which connection is made. This <br /> <br />unit is electrically driven and supplies domestic and industrial <br /> <br />water. <br /> <br />State Highway No. l2 traverses the valley little above <br /> <br />streambed level except at Reilly canyon where an overhead structure <br /> <br />crosses the D. & R. G. W. track. This is an oil surfaced highway <br /> <br />of recent construction. <br /> <br />In all, there are 42 buildings in the reservoir site and <br /> <br />one lOO grave cemetery at elevation 6210 near the mouth of the <br /> <br />Long'S canyon. <br /> <br />Generally, the land within the reservoir is classed as <br /> <br />grazing with some snlall farms, the largest of which is the Saddle <br /> <br />Rock Farm operated to supply fresh produce for Trinidad. <br /> <br />Las Animas County assessor'srecords show assessed values <br /> <br />of various lands in the reservoir area as follows: <br /> <br />Irrigated <br />Non-irrigated <br />Grazing <br /> <br />$30 per acre <br />$lO per acre <br />$ 3 per acre <br /> <br />In estimating right of way costs allowance is made for <br /> <br />severances and an area of 2700 acres is included at $20 per acre <br /> <br />resulting in a total cost of $54,000. <br /> <br />Relocation of railroads utilities and other improvements <br /> <br />is not inoluded here but will be discussed later. <br /> <br />56 <br />
