.

.

.

3102

The rest of the borrow source areas are located south of
the reservoir. Only one, consisting of about 120 acres, is
located immediately east of the dam and above the existing
construction shop area.

With the exception of the CF&I Borrow Area, the remaining
five borrow areas are located between Peck Creek and the
dam. Portions of the planned Boggs Flat and Rock Creek Public
Use Areas are designated as borrow sources. The five areas
comprise about l,300 acres. The total designated area for
borrow material is about 1840 acres. The 650-acre figure
indicated on page 46, Item 5, will undoubtedly increase because
a review of the specifications indicated a scarcity of proper
type below elevation 4880 feet,

However, the specifications require: "Topsoil shall be
replaced, as directed by the contracting officer, in denuded
portions of the following areas: (1) The downstream right
abutment borrow area; (2) All other borrow areas above eleva-
tion 4880; (3) In the vicinity of the south shore marina; and
(4) Adjacent to roadwork on the south side of the reservoir
area ,"

Not all of the borrow sources acreage will be used by the
contractor. Some areas may not have any borrow extraction,
thereby eliminating the need for rehabilitation.

(3) Burying utility lines: Utility lines into the recreation
areas and facilities will be buried for aesthetic preservation.
Some existing 115 kv lines and lower voltage powerlines
which pass within the project take line will not be buried,
However, all new or relocated utility lines within the reservoir
takeline will be buried whenever possible and practical.
Exceptions may be new power lines crossing wildlife management
areas.

66
