<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3091 <br /> <br />CONSULTATION AND COORDINATION <br /> <br />(1) Consultation and coordination during development of the proposal <br />and during preparation of the draft environmental statement. <br /> <br />(a) The Colorado Water Conservation Board, Southeastern Colorado <br />Water Conservancy District, Colorado River Water Conservation <br />District and the Southwestern Water Conservation District <br />provided impetus to developing the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project <br />and are signatories to the Project "Operating Principles." <br />Expertise and consultation were sought for developing plans <br />principally from National Park Service, Advisory Council on <br />Historic Preservation, Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, <br />U. S. Forest Service, U. S. Geological Survey, Corps of <br />Engineers, Colorado Game, Fish and Parks, Colorado Highway <br />Commission, Colorado State Historical Society, Pueblo Regional <br />Planning Commission and Pueblo City and County Governmental <br />entities. In addition, some of the smaller towns within the <br />Arkansas Valley, local irrigators, and other agencies listed <br />in the summary were consulted and coordinated with to a <br />lesser extent for resolving specific aspects of the Project. <br />Utility and transportation, both public and private, entities <br />were coordinated with to relocate their facilities. <br /> <br />(b) During initial drafting of the environmental impact statement, <br />personal contacts as well as telephone conversations and <br />written communications were made with most representatives <br />of the entities listed in the Statement Summary. <br /> <br />(c) Colorado Game, Fish and Parks and the Bureau of Sport Fisheries <br />and Wildlife are participating on a continuing basis in evalu- <br />ating and recommending action to enhance and mitigate fish and <br />wildlife aspects of the Project. <br /> <br />(2) Coordination during review of the draft environmental statement <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Notice of availability was made in the Federal Register, <br />February 4, 1972 and news releases were made in local news- <br />papers on February 6, 1972, Copies were made available from <br />the Office of Ecclogy, Bureau of Reclamation, Washington D. C" <br />the Office of the Regional Director, Denver, Colorado, and <br />the National Technical Information Service, Department of <br />Commerce, Springfield, Virginia.
