.

.

.

304S

Several contracts were completed concerning telephone and
powerline relocations in connection with construction of
Pueblo Dam and Reservoir. Nearly 0.6 mile of powerlines
have been relocated with 6.a miles of future Dower line re-
locations planned. In addition 2.6 miles of telephone lines
have been relocated with a.a miles of future telephone line
relocations planned.

In connection with relocation of the DSRGW Railroad, 1.0
miles of power line relocation was completed and other modi-
fications and adjustments were made concerning telephone and
powerlines.

The 21-grave Turkey Creek Cemetery was relocated to the
Swallows Cemetery which lies above the high water line within
the reservoir take line.

Approximately 430,000 tons of riprap material will be required
to construct the Pueblo Dam 0 An approved source of riprap has
been specified at Table Mountain, a Bureau of Land Management
site approximately 40 miles northwest of Pueblo Dam. The con-
tractor, upon selection of a quarry site for his source of riprap
material, must submit for approval by the Bureau of Reclamation
a complete plan for developing the source and transporting the
material to the damsite. If the contractor elects to utilize
the Table Mountain quarry, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) site,
specific guidance will be provided in the delineation of boundary
limits for contractor work areas and quarry operations to pre-
serve natural vegetation in the area. All quarrying or road
building on public land requires a permit which contains stip-
ulation to minimize adverse impacts. This permit is approved
by the Bureau of Land Management's authorized officer, prior
to commencing any work. The Bureau of Land Management's
environmental requirements governing use of the quarry will be
included in the Pueblo Dam specifications.

The contractor will be required to use the existing access
road across State of Colorado land from Colorado State High-
way 115 to the terminus of the existing improved road. The
Bureau will establish use rights for this road by initiating
friendly condemnation action. This action will be required
to clear conflict of use questions. From the end of this
existing road, access roads to either side of Table Mountain
shall be located as directed by the Bureau. Access roads
shall be constructed within a 50-foot width along the survey
lines established by the Bureau. No additional access or

9
