Construction may not begin until receipt of guaranteed approval
from ASCS and receipt of SCS approved design. SCS checks construction and installation
and certifies that standards and specifications are followed.

8. Go to ASCS office and sign completion. Notify SCS. SCS certifies practice and
returns information on extent and materials to ASCS. Practice must be certified by
SCS to recieve payment.

9. Payment. ASCS issues check. Landowner provides bill and receipts for labor
and materials.

At first glance, this seems complicated, but if these steps are followed the
process works quite well. Also, the land owner must set aside enough time to work with
the ASCS and SCS. Both agencies prefer to work with the'landowner/operator directly.

Many questions arise during this process. In general, if you have questions
concerning eligibility, cost-share, change of practice, or increase in cost, contact
ASCS. If there are questions concerning planning, design, materials, construction,
or feasibility of a system, call SCS. Please noti~y.both agencies before action is
taken.

Jim Currier
Soil Conservationist

The
WATERLINE

~ ('01~,
COOPEl7if:H1VE EXTENSION SE~ICE 11[ ,iLl" --? c?;)(f(P}];J:--.
TRI RIVER AREA <.: c.V O";~~" ";Jr;..
COI\; V~OJi>..q (~,

Pelroleum Minmg Club Bldg 1001 North 2nd Cou~ n
,,5< Com,,", D; S"", '" '" Mal" F",""h~ Hall 5Ih . palmi!f!f{~ "'!!I'
Grand Junction.
