He succeeded Joseph I. <br />Burns, who resigned to work for a U. S. engineering firm on a <br />reclamation project in East Pakistan. <br /> <br />EXPERTS RETAINED TO STUDY WORK-FLOW SYSTEM <br /> <br />Management' Systems Corp., of Cambridge, Mass. " , was <br />retained to help develop improved management technique's for the <br />Department's technical engineering work flow system. <br />The company, under a $30,000 contract, will develop <br />operating procedures designed to improve the effectiveneSS of the- <br />Department's "critical path" method of scheduling design and <br />construction of water facilities. <br /> <br />ALLIS-CHALMERS SECURES TURBINE CONTRACT <br /> <br />A $7,238,791 contract was awarded to Allis-Chalmers <br />Mfg. Co. of York, Pa.; for furnishing and installing the first units <br />in the Oroville Dam power plant of the State Water Project -- three <br />turbines and three pump-turbines. <br />The work is scheduled for completion in January, 1969. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
