Ruedi Reservoir releases may be affected by a limitation of 250 cfs of stream flow in the Fryingpan River below the reservoir. In 1992, the release of 20,000 acre feet ror in stream flow uses resulted in streamflow near or at 250 cfs. The 250 cfs limitation is based on fishing access, but may restrict future releases during certain portions of the year. The Bureau of Reclamation's present policy does not commit to long-term contracts for reservoir water. The current term of contract available from Ruedi Reservoir is only 25 years, a concern to many ,contractees. Further, the contracts can be interrupted if releases are required for other Federal purposes. A longer term, non-interruptible contract is desirable for augmentation purposes. Wolford Mountain Reservoir is located upstream of Ruedi Reservoir. Wolford Mountain can supply water to augment depletions at both the Shoshone and Cameo Demands and could serve the same demand base as Ruedi Reservoir. 12
