<br />ramifications associated with choosing each of the alternative futures; <br />(5) establish state/regional priorities, conclusions and recommendations <br />for future water and related resources programs and activities; and (6) <br /> <br />participate in the joint regional endeavors of research and documentation <br /> <br />of the 10 states' diverse programs and capabilities as well as those of <br />private and nongovernmental entities to determine the regional consensus <br />of what the federal role should be for meeting the future needs and desires <br />of the states, the region and the nation. <br /> <br />The Missouri River Basin Commission retains the authority to control <br /> <br />co <br />.r-\ <br />~ <br />.-l <br /> <br />the expenditure of all monies made available from WRC. The actual transfer <br /> <br />of such monies, except to federal agencies, will be arranged by the Missouri <br /> <br />River Basin Commission through separate contractual aqreements. <br /> <br />MRBC staff will provide as much technical assistance to the states as <br /> <br />is practicable in order to help the states meet their regional assessment <br /> <br />commitments on a timely basis. Extensive travel will be required to achieve <br /> <br />this in the vast nissouri region, nost of the burden of travel will be placed <br /> <br />upon MRBC staff rather than upon federal-and state-agency agency participants <br /> <br />in order to maximize the actual study time available to regional assessment <br /> <br />participants and to make the best use of limited assessment funds. <br /> <br />Funds to be expended for services of other agencies including those of <br /> <br /> <br />the states will be agreed upon through separate contractual agreements, The <br /> <br />proposed funding of ~84,400 to the state agencies for required products in <br /> <br /> <br />each subactivity is listed in Table 4. The estimated expenditure for computer <br /> <br />services is $2,500 for fiscal year 1975 and $7,000 for fiscal year 1976. <br /> <br />These computer services will be provided by the Economic Research Service <br /> <br />and the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The actual transfer of funds to these <br /> <br />federal agencies will be made DY the Water Resources Council upon approval <br />by and direction of the Missouri River Basin Commission, <br /> <br />-16- <br />
