Cooperate with vocational and other schools and the mining <br />industry to eliminate duplication and attempt to have mining standards met. <br /> <br />Program Title: Certification <br /> <br />Target Public: Coal Mine Officials <br /> <br />Purpose: To assure at least minimum safety knowledge is held by persons <br />in authority in Colorado's coal mines. <br /> <br />Program Title: Cooperative Consulting <br /> <br />Target Public: Local, State, Federal Government Agencies <br /> <br />Purpose: To assist in formulating position policy, this agency has personnel <br />advise facts on mining which are used to determine what effects mining would <br />have on environmental conditions, land use, available labor force, etc. when <br />assistance is requested. <br /> <br />Program Title: Records <br /> <br />Target Public: All citizens with an interest in mining <br /> <br />Purpose: To provide a source of information on mining in Colorado. Informa- <br />ti.on inetudes governmental requirernen."s to start mining, location of current <br />and past mining claims, production of minerals in past, equipment and methods <br />used at specific mining locations, injuries and cause at mines, mining <br />district mars, ~tc. <br /> <br />III. ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />For the last complete year this agency: <br /> <br />Made 1,476 s~fety inspections at 579 active operacions for enforcement <br />of st;J.te laws and regul;J.t i,'ns. 1,204 samples 'Were t.aken for radi.:Jtion <br />exposure, 409 samples were taken for dust exposure, 292 samples were <br />.taken for noise exposure.
