RELATED STATUTES <br /> <br />CRS 1973, Vol. 14, Title 34, Articles 20 thru 31, 40 and 47 <br /> <br />Charge <br /> <br />Make regular inspections of coal mines, and examination of all ore mills, <br />sampling works, smelters, metallurgical plants, rock and stone quarries, <br />clay pits, tunnels, sand and gravel pit excavations and plants, and mines <br />of Colorado of whatever kind or character, to insure snfe.working conditions. <br /> <br />Order condition to be remedied if by inspection any matter, thing or <br />practice is found to be defective or threatens bodily injury to any person. <br /> <br />To collect data and record progress of mining industry in Colorado and <br />successful methods for recovery of state's metals and minerals. <br /> <br />To procure standard works in the mining industry, smelting, concentrating, <br />milling and dressing of metalliferous ores, mining engineering, geology, <br />mineralogy, and other subjects which can aid study and promote knowledge of <br />all who are interested in mining or refining of any of the mineral products <br />of Colorado. <br /> <br />The above charges are consistenr with the Department of Natural Resources <br />and state policies of "full development of the state's natural resources to <br />the benefit of all rhe citizens of Colorado". <br /> <br />II. PROGRAl-lS <br /> <br />Program Title: Mining Safe tv Inspection <br /> <br />Target Public: Employees of Mining Industry <br /> <br />Purpose: Provide assistance in maintaining safe mine work areas. Enforce <br />state laws and regulations in case of dangerous or hazardous conditions. To <br />accumulate facts on what safety and health training and education is <br />n~c~ssnry for nlilling related workers. <br /> <br />39 <br />
