<br />., <br /> <br />GOj3i3 <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />In an effqrt to strengthen the SCDs across the state, training sessions <br />(II) are scheduled to increase the awareness of the 415 supervisors. <br />These sessions wi~ last one day and are located throughout the state <br />necessitating a:latge amount of travel expense by SCB staff. <br /> <br />-' <br /> <br />The SeB and Colorado Association of Soil Conservation Districts have <br />proposed a change in the 1954 Soil Erosion-Dust Blowing Act (CRS 1973- <br />35-72-101 through 108). The present legislation does not direct county <br />commissioners to deal with the problem. Also the penalty clause is <br />strengthened. <br /> <br />A Model State Act for soil erosion and sediment control is being proposed <br />by the SCB and CASCD. This will be enabling legislation so that a local <br />SeD, county or city may enact their own soil erosion and sediment ordinance. <br /> <br />The SCB administers two grants. One of these is a total of $75,000 <br />work being done with the 208 Water Quality Program.
