Orientation of area boundaries, layout of recreation areas, available <br />activities and regulations. <br /> <br />g. Emphasize the interpretive themes of water, wildlife, cultural <br />resources, and geology. <br /> <br />10. Signing <br /> <br />Signing within the Management Area is in accordance with National <br />Forest signing policies and standards. Sufficient signs are installed <br />to provide adequate information and guidance to persons who may be <br />unfamiliar with the area and to provide proper identification of <br />National Forest System lands. Traffic control signs that conform <br />to National Standards have been installed to regulate road traffic <br />in the interest of public safety. <br /> <br />11. Winter Activities <br /> <br />Winter recreation opportunities exist at the McPhee Reservoir Management <br />Area through the winter months of November through March. These <br />opportunities include hunting, ice fishing, snow-mobiling, cross-country <br />skiiing, and snowshoeing. Management of public use in these activities <br />is as follows: <br /> <br />a. Winter Access <br /> <br />Motorized vehicle use is not permitted within wildlife management <br />areas from December 1 through April 30. This restriction applies <br />to the entire House Creek drainage, including developed sites, from <br />the Dolores-Norwood Road to Beaver Creek, and the east side of the <br />Management Area from House Creek to the town of Dolores. This restriction <br />is necessary to minimize harassment of wintering deer and elk in <br />these areaS. <br /> <br />Road accessing the reservoir and development sites outside of the <br />seasonal closures will not be snow-plowed by the Forest Service. However, <br />same of these roads may be plowed by the county or others if winter <br />activity use if high enough to demand it. The roads accessing the Great <br /> <br />16 <br />
