<br />Cut Dike and McPhee Dams and the Dolores Tunnel will be plowed for. <br />project maintenance and operation purposes which will provide limited <br />access to the reservoir. <br /> <br />b. Ice Fishing <br /> <br />The McPhee Reservoir surface may freeze during an average winter <br />season. Ice fishing will be allowed on the reservoir. However, <br />use will be limited by the availability of access points. Use will <br />be monitored by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the Forest <br />Service to avoid conflicts with wildlife. <br /> <br />c. Snowmobiling <br /> <br />Snowmobiling is restricted to the reservoir's frozen surface and <br />to roads outside of the seasonal closure areas. <br /> <br />d. Snow-Shoeing and Cross-Country Skiing <br /> <br />These activities are permitted throughout the Management Area except <br />within the seasonal closed wildlife management areas, where use is <br />limited to winter closed roads, and trails specifically designated <br />to these uses. If future uses increases to a point that causes conflicts <br />with wintering big game herds, these winter activities may be curtailed <br />in the wildlife management areas. <br /> <br />12. Public Health and Fire Protection <br /> <br />The Forest Service meets state standards in providing water treatment, <br />sewage treatment, and solid-waste disposal. <br /> <br />Potable water is available at both McPhee Recreation Complex and <br />House Creek Recreation Area. <br /> <br />The Forest Service is responsible for fire protection for all lands <br />within the McPhee Reservoir Management Area and provides protection, <br />detection, and initial attack on all fires. <br /> <br />17 <br />
