Water Treaty of 1944 between United States and Mexico <br />Article 10 of the treaty provides, in part: <br /> <br />"Of the vaters of the Colorado River, from any and all <br />sources, there are allotted to Mexico: <br /> <br />"(a) A guaranteed annual quantity of 1,500,000 acre-feet <br />(1,850,234,000 cubic meters) to be delivered in accordance <br />with the provisions of Article 15 of this treaty. . .." <br /> <br />Article 15 of the treaty delineates the pattern and points of <br /> <br />delivery of vater to Mexico. Schedule I of Article 15 provides min- <br /> <br />imum winter deliveries on the basis of 1,000,000 acre-feet annual <br /> <br />delivery, in the limitrophe section, as follovs: <br /> <br />"(a) During the months of January, February, October, November, <br />and December, the prescribed rate of delivery shall be not less <br />than 600 cubic feet (17.0 cubic meters) nor more than 3,500 <br />cubic feet (99.1 cubic meters) per second." <br /> <br />Schedule II of Article 15 provides minimum winter deliveries by <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />means of the AlJ.-American Canal, as follovs: <br /> <br />"(a) During the months of January, February, October, November, <br />and December, the prescribed rate of delivery shall be not less <br />than 300 cubic feet (8.5 cubic meters) nor more than 2,000 <br />cubic feet (56.6 cubic meters) per second." <br /> <br />fJ <br /> <br />Mexico has not as yet availed itself of the option to request <br /> <br />part of its vater delivery through the AlJ.-American Cans.1.
