<br />f,r.', ;l'{'] <br />10,1 c, ... <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />Colorado River Storage Project <br /> <br />Curecanti Unit <br /> <br />Morrow Point powerplant generating Unit No. 1 went "on line" <br /> <br />December 23, 1970, and Unit No.2 followed on January 29, 1971. <br /> <br />Testing will be carried on for several weeks more to assure that <br /> <br />powerplant facilities will operate at design efficiencies. The <br /> <br />powerplant completion contractor continues with painting)masonry, <br /> <br />heating, air conditioning and ventilation work for the entrance and <br /> <br />visitor facility and the underground powerhouse. <br /> <br />Blue Mesa powerplant continues to fulfill its function of generation <br /> <br />of electrical energy. Work will be resumed this spring on the <br /> <br />Stage 02 addition to Blue Mesa switchyard. <br /> <br />The environmental impact statement for the Crystal segment of Curecanti <br /> <br />Unit is being circulated to other Federal Agencies for review. Bids <br /> <br />will be taken March 11, 1971 for constructing Crystal Field Station. <br /> <br />Invitations for bids will be issued early this spring for Crystal <br /> <br />Dam and Powerplant. <br /> <br />Flaming Gorge Unit <br /> <br />On-site work continues for installation of the powerplant freight <br /> <br />elevator. The elevator pit has been completed and elevator components <br /> <br />delivered. Installation work should be finished early in April. <br /> <br />Winter weather continues to preclude replacement of bituminous sur- <br /> <br />facing on the visitor center parking areas and powerplant service road. <br /> <br />5 <br />
