0:1479
.

be released at such a rate, time, and quantity as may be ordered

by the State Engineer of Colorado but restricted to nondamaging
flow rates in the channel downstream the reservoir. There shall

be no releases of water from the permanent pool except upon the

request of the State Engineer of Colorado.

Project maintenance will consist almost exclusively of providing

the effort and material necessary for reservoir regulation, maintenance

of project facilities, and performing minor improvements to accommodate

changes in operational requirements occasioned by law, practical

necessity, or due to damages. Maintenance activities will include

clean-up of project areas and normal road, utility, embankment spill-

way and housing upkeep as required to retain the original function

of the project. Operations facilities will consist of a maintenance
building with a visitors room and a storage yard, a standby generator,

an elevator, and two sets of hydraulic gates. Occasional facility

upgradin~ may be performed to keep pace with recent technological

advances, thereby improving facility function and life. It is

estimated that about 6 to 8 people will be required for maintenance

and operation during weekdays and perhaps 2 individuals on weekends.

Other employees will be engineers, foremen, clerks, mechanics,

electricians, equipment repairers, and 4 to 6 laborers as required

by season and work required. Light-weight vehicles will be operated

in the immediate project area to the extent necessary for proper

operation and maintenance. Heavy equipment may be occasionally

employed to lift and haul heavy operating equipment for major

repair purposes.

.

1-11
