To eliminate or reduce degradation of <br /> <br />the environment during and as a result of construction operations, <br /> <br />guide specifications have been included in construction contracts. <br /> <br />These provisions cover the presence or use of chemical, physical, <br /> <br />or biological elements or agents which adversely affect human health, <br /> <br />or welfare, unfavorably alter ecological balances, unfavorably <br /> <br />affect wild species, or degrade the utility of the environment for <br /> <br />aesthetic and recreations1 purposes.
