which reduce the amount of water required for waste discharge by ~

about 95 percent. Sewage will receive secondary trestment equal to

or exceeding Colorado State standards. The effluent will be trapped

in sealed, minimum evaporative pools. Vault toilets will be pumped,

and, it is contemplated that, the managing agency will make arrange-

ments with the city of Trinidad for disposal in their sewage treatment

facilities. It is further contemplated that solid waste generated

from the recreation areas will be disposed in existing sanitary land

fills by a similar arrangement. Solid waste generated from the Corps

operations facilities will also be disposed in like manner. What

small amount of sewage produced from the Operations Building will be

disposed of in septic tanks and subsurface sand filters. No sanitary

disposal facilities are to be provided for water craft. The small

water surface does not dictate a specific need for this service.

The nearby sanitary trailer dump should suffice for the small need

that may arise.

1. Fisheries and Wildl~fe Manaaement. Fisheries development and

management, as well as management of wildlife and other natural re-

sources, are to be conducted by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

Although the Division will administer .to wildlife resources on

project lands, it is anticipated that the wildlife program will be

of a limited nature because of the relative paucity of perimeter area

to be managed. It is expected that both cold- and warm-water fish

will be introduced (two-story fishery). The Colorado Division of

Wildlife is considering stocking the pool with rainbow trOut, channel

catfish, black bass, bluegill, walleye pike, and white bass, along

1-8

.
I
