Lands may be retained and managed if <br />they are physically suitable as a site for residence <br />or business, and federal ownership is required to <br /> <br />(1) Protect and manage other resource vslues on <br />the land when occupancy is made on a non- <br />exclusive or short terrr. basis, or <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Protect and manage adjacent federal lsnds, by <br />means of use stipulations and other techniques <br />which could not be used if the land had passed, <br />to non-federal ownership, when the occupancy <br />is of long term or exclusive nature~ <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />(f) Outdoor Recreation. This includes the protection, <br />preservation, development, public use and enjoyment <br />of scenery, water, primitive or natural lands'cape <br />(including roadless areas), wildlife, natural <br />phenomena, archeological and historical sites. <br />Recreation management will provide for the health <br />and safety of the using public for public access <br />to public lands, and for construction of recreation, <br />facilities where needed.
