<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />'J <br />. <br /> <br />.2 :~ :~:~ '~ <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br />(d) ADMINISTRATION. -- In order to conserve and protect the <br />scenery, natural, historic, and archaeological obiects, and the <br />wildlife and fishery on the lands and waters, and to provide for <br />the public recreation use and enioyment of the resources therein, . <br />except as provided in paragraphs (d)(l) and (d)(2), the Secretary <br />shall administer the Park Complex, in accordance with this Act. <br /> <br />(1) ASPINALL UNIT. -- Notwithstanding this Act nor the Act of <br />October 2, 1968 (82 Stat. 906; 16 D.S.C. 1271 et seq.) as amended, <br />the Colorado River Storage Project Act of April 11, 1956 (70 Stat. <br />105) shall provide the authority of and directions to the Secretary <br />to operate, maintain, rehabilitate, or improve the Wayne N. <br />Aspinall Unit in accordance with the authorized purposes of the <br />Colorado River Storage Project Act for river regulation, irrigation, <br />flood control and generation of hydroelectric power. <br /> <br />(2) UNCOMPAHGRE PROJECT. -- Notwithstanding this Act nor <br />the Act of October 2, 1968, the authority of and directions to the <br />Secretary (a) to operate, maintain, rehabilitate, or improve the <br />Uncompahgre Project, shall be in accordance with the purposes of <br />the Uncompahgre Project (originally called the Gunnison Project) <br />authorized on March 14, 1903, under provision of the Reclamation <br />Act and all amendments thereto, and all subsequent legislation <br />involving the Uncompahgre Project; (b) to construct, operate, and <br />maintain the Fruitland Mesa Project, and Bostwick Park Project, as <br />authorized by Public Law 88-568, dated September 2, 1964; (c) to <br />construct, operate, and maintain the Smith Fork Project as <br />authorized by the Colorado River Storage Project Act of 1956 (70 <br />Stat. 105); and (d) to construct and operate Stage I of the Lower <br />Gunnison Basin Unit of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control <br />Program shall be as authorized by Public Law 98-569, dated October <br />30,1984. <br /> <br />(e) MANAGEMENT PLAN. --Within 3 years from the effective date of <br />this Act, the Secretary shall develop and ~pprove a general management <br />plan that integrates the purposes and uses of all 4 units of the Park <br />Complex and coordinates development of the 4 units. The Secretary shall <br />develop a formal, coordinated and cooperative management agreement <br />among the agencies involved, indicating: <br /> <br />(1) Measures which are deemed necessary or desirable <br />for the purposes of resource protection, scenic integrity, <br />fishery protection, management and administration of the <br />area in furtherance of the purposes of this Act, including the <br />formation of a management p,roup amonp, the agencies involved, <br />which will meet regularly and continuously in the furtherance <br />of the overall management plan and objectives. <br />
