<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />....' <br /> <br />- 3- <br /> <br />(5) The jurisdiction of the State of CoLorado over the <br />waters of the segment designated hereinafter will not impair, <br />but will protect, the scenic, recrearional, fish and wildlif~ <br />values of said segment. <br /> <br />(b) PURPOSE. -- The purpose of this Act is to designate a <br />131,000 acre land and water resource as the "Black Canyon of the <br />Gunnison National Park Complex," and to provide for the establishment <br />of a formal comprehensive and coordinated interagency management <br />framework for the protecti()n of the natural resources and enhancement <br />of the public use and enjoyment of each unit of the complex. <br /> <br />TITLE I -- BLACK CANYON OF THE GUNNISON NATIONAL PARK COMPLEX <br />SECTION 101. ESTABLISHMENT AND ADMINISTRATION. <br /> <br />(a) ESTABLISHMENT. -- There is hereby established as a unit of <br />the National Park System (except as provided in paragraph (b)) in the <br />State of Colorado, the "Black Canyon of the Gunnison National PA.rk" <br />Complex (hereinafter in this Act referred to as the "Park Complex"). <br /> <br />(b) AREAS INCLUDED. -- The Park Complex shall consist of the <br />approximately 131,00 acres of lands, waters and interests therein <br />generally depicted on the map entitled "Proposed Black Canyon of <br />the Gunnison National Park Complex," numbered 144 and dated <br />November, 1985. The Park Complex shall he comprised of the "Illack <br />Canyon of the Gunnison National Park". the "Curecanti National <br />Recreation Area", and the "Lower Gunnison Wild and Scenic River." <br />Also included as a unit of the Park Complex (but not included as <br />part of the National Park System) shall he the unit hereinafter <br />designated as the "Gunnison Gorge National Recreation Area." Each <br />unit is designated hereinafter in this Act. The map shall he on <br />file and available for public inspection in the Office of the <br />Director, National Park Service; and Direct()r, Hureau of Land <br />Management, Department of the Interior. <br /> <br />(c) LEGAL DESCRIPTION AND MAP. -- Not later than six months after <br />the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Interior <br />(hereinafter in this Act referred to as the "Secretary") shall file a <br />legal description and map of the boundary with the Committee on <br />Interior and Insular Affairs of the House of Representatives and the <br />Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the United States Senate. <br />Such legal description shall have the same force and effect as if <br />included in this Act, except that corrections of clerical and <br />typographical errors in such legal description (and in the map <br />referred to in subsection (b) may be made. Such legal descriptions <br />shall be on file and available for public inspection in the office of <br />the Director, National Park Service; and Director, Bureau of Land <br />Management, Department of the Interior. <br />
