<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />,P' . <br /> <br />-9- <br /> <br />(3) HUNTING, FISHING, AND TRAPPING. -- The Secretary <br />shall permit hunting, fishing, and trapping on the lands and <br />waters under his jurisdiction within the Gunnison Gorge <br />National Recreation Area in-accordance with applicable laws <br />and regulations of the United States and the State of <br />Colorado. The Secretary, after consultation with the Colorado <br />Division of Wildlife, may issue regulations designating zones <br />where and establishing periods when no hunting, fishing, or <br />trapping shall be permitted for reasons of public safety, <br />administration, or public use and enjoyment. <br /> <br />(c) MINING. -- <br /> <br />(1) WITHDRAWAL. -- Subject to valid existing rights, the <br />lands within the Gunnison Gorge National Recreation Area are <br />hereby withdrawn from location, entry and patent under the <br />mining laws of the United States. The Secretary, under such <br />reasonable regulations as he deems appropriate, may permit <br />the removal of nonleasable minerals from lands or interest in <br />lands within the Recreation Area in the manner prescribed by <br />section 10 of the Act of August 4,1939, as (53 Stat. 1196; <br />43 U.S.C. 387). The Secretary may permit the removal of <br />leasable minerals from lands or interests in lands within the <br />Recreation Area in accordance with the Mineral Leasing Act of <br />1920, (41 Stat. 437; 30 U.S.C. 181 et seq.), or the <br />Acquired Lands Minerrtl Le:1sing Act (61 Stat. 913; 30 U.S.C. <br />351 et seq.) if he finds that such disposition would not have <br />significant adverse effects on the administration of the <br />Rec reat ion Area. <br /> <br />(2) RECEIPTS. All receipts derived from permits and <br />leases issued on lands or interests in lands within the <br />Gunnison Gorge National Recreation Area under the Mineral <br />Leasing Act of 1920, or the Acquired Lands Mineral Leasing <br />Act, shall be disposed of as provided in the applicable Act. <br />Receipts from the disposition of nonleasable minerals within <br />the Recreation Area shall he disposed of in the same manner <br />as moneys received from the sale of public lands. <br /> <br />(d) WILDERNESS STUDY AREA. -- Notwithstanding the provlslons of this <br />section, the Gunnison Gorge Wilderness Study Area [CO-030-388] shall <br />continue to be subject to the provisions of Section 603 of the Federal <br />Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (90 Stat. 2744; 43 U.S.C. <br />1701), so as not to impair its suitability for preservation as <br />wilderness. <br />
