It will still be necessary to file for permanent water rights as the project is

put into operation. Preliminary reaction from the State is being sought in

order to confirm the availability of permanent water rights. The Bureau of

Reclamation recognizes state water law and will make all attempts to plan and

operate this project within these laws. However, the state must continue to

provide interim opinions on this issue for Reclamation to continue recommending

construction.

Schedule

The following schedule shows general activities required to proceed from the

project's present stage to project operation. The list of activities allows

for 2 options, deep well brine disposal and Radium Evaporation Pond brine

disposal. If the initial injection well test shows injection disposal to be

not feasible, evaporation ponds will again be persued. The attached bar charts

show the schedule to project completion. The Radium Evaporation pond option

was not plotted on a bar chart.
