<br />Municipal and Industrial System Match,1989 <br /> <br />Syar Tunnel <br /> <br />Construction continues on the shop/warehouse building. The water <br />treatment facilities are essentially complete and have been inspected. <br />Drilling and casing of the Fifth Water Creek well has been completed, <br />and a pump has been installed for the contractor's water system. The <br />contractor completed placing concrete for the invert of the outlet reach <br />between stations 377+10 and 377+40. Concrete placement in the arch <br />support system between stations 373+86 and 374+46 has been <br />completed. <br /> <br />= <br />"",--, <br /> <br />u <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />;\lunicipal and lndu~trial System April, 1989 <br /> <br />Jonlanelle Dam - General <br /> <br />A Utah Projects Office representative attended a water right hearing <br />March 29, 1989, concerning an application filed by Supera, which <br />proposes to divert HO.OOO acre feet of water, at 330 cubit feet per <br />second, from a tunnel running from Park City, Utah, to Draper, Utah. <br />The application mentioned tunnel vents into the spillway of Jordanelle <br />Dam. Reclamation, as well as all major water users in the area, <br />protested this application. <br />On March 10, 1989, a decision was made to proceed with an archi- <br />tect-engineer contract to develop a plan and designs to consolidate the <br />Olson/Neihart tailings \vith the Mayflower tailings, to accommodate <br />construction of JordanelIe Dam. <br /> <br />Diamond Fork System <br /> <br />Syar Tunnel <br />\Vork continued in the portal area, including installation of a water <br />tank, a waterline, an air line, a septic tank and drainfield, and track and <br />switch gear. The subcontractor precast about 1,000 invert segments. <br /> <br />Fifth \Vater Aqueduct <br /> <br />Alternative alignments and features were evaluated and presented to <br />regional personnel, the Forest Set\;ce, the Central Utah \Vater <br />Conset\'ancy District, and the Strawberry \Vater Users Association. A <br />decision on a final plan is expected in May, 1989. <br /> <br /> <br />18 <br />
