<br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />~~ <br /> <br />The Council urges Reclamation and SCS to closely <br /> <br />coordinate with the Forum during the preparation of the <br /> <br />Forum's "1988 Annual Progress Report - Water Quality <br /> <br />Standards for Salinity - Colorado River System" to assure <br /> <br />consistency with future water use estimates and salinity <br /> <br />control implementation schedules. <br /> <br />Specific Comments <br /> <br />Only a few, select salinity control projects or <br /> <br />activities are specifically addressed by the Council in <br /> <br />this Report. <br /> <br />This is not to be interpreted as a lack of <br /> <br />interest or concern. but only that the Council has no <br /> <br />specific recommendations on certain projects at this time. <br /> <br />These projects include: Glenwood-Dotsero Springs, LaVerkin <br /> <br />Springs, Cpper Virgin Valley, Virgin Valley, Mancos Valley, <br /> <br />Moapa Valley, Colorado River Indian Reservation, and Little <br /> <br />Colorado River. <br /> <br />Current status of these projects is <br /> <br />discussed in the 1987 Review and the 1987 Joint Evaluation <br /> <br />Report. <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) <br /> <br />Paradox Valley Unit. <br /> <br />The Council is pleased with the <br /> <br />completion of drilling the test injection well to a depth <br /> <br />of 16,000 feet. <br /> <br />Since the construction program is three <br /> <br />months behind schedule, the Council urges that installation <br /> <br />of the injection tube string, construction of the brine <br /> <br />-5- <br />
