2. Si nbad Deep Well.

This alternative would include a cut off wall just downstream of where the
springs emerge, a pumping plant, and a pipeline from the pumping plant to
an abandoned wil dcat oil well named "No.1 Si nbad Unit". The oil well
located in the extreme southwest corner of Section 16, would be
rehabil itated for injection. The formation selected for injection would
probably be a Mississippi age limestone located approximately 12,000 feet
deep. The existing well is reportedly plugged and abandoned at its final
depth of about 13,700 feet. From information developed by Williams
Brothers Engineering for the proposed deep well injection program in
Paradox Valley, up to 100 gallons per minute could be injected into the
limestone formation, without pressure. For the alternative evaluation it
was assumed that the .1 and .2 cfs alternative would not require pressure.
For these alternatives capital costs were included for injection pumps,
but no annual power requirement was included for injection. It was
assumed that the .3 cfs alternative would require pumping at 250 psi of
pressure.

Construction would take about 1 year.

SINBAO
VALLEY

SINBAD
DEEP WELL
ALTERNATIVE
#2

C;)
<:l
,..
<:l
'lI
'"
'"

~
-

'<:
'"
~

n021Q5

4
