CHAPTER II

GENERAL APPROACH TO THE WORK

The Phase II investigation will require two types of reports - progress
and technical. The progress reports will be submitted as work on significant
events nears completion. Technical reports will be required for the hydro-
logic, geologic, and engineering design data and for site specific environ-
mental data collection. Upon completion of Phase II activities, the con-
tractor will submit to Water and Power a brief report describing design
criteria, principles employed, assumptions made, data used, and data gaps or
inadequacies encountered. This report will accompany design drawings, quan-
tities, and data.

....,
t'..,,",'..'i
.~~:.>/

Water and Power will utilize data and reports submitted by the contrac-
tor(s) to prepare a planning report and an environmental assessment or state-
ment as discussed in Chapter V.

Public

The role of the public in the study will be to identify problems and
needs and to recommend possible solutions. Opportunities will be provided for
individuals to serve on the planning team.

The public will be informed through a series of public meetings, news-
letters prepared by the planning team leader, and by personal contact with
team members. Among the public meetings that will be held are environmental
scoping, alternative plans(s), and the public's preferred plan. The public
will have the opportunity to review the feasibility report and draft
environmental report as dicussed in Chapter V. A tentative schedule of public
involvement events is presented below.

~'-"
't;~~~;}

Suggested Schedule of Key Public Involvement Events

Event number

Approximate date

1.
