In addition, the State of New Mexico has agreed to <br />establish a watermaster district in the San Juan Basin, if such a district is <br />found necessary to protect or administer reservoir releases in the San Juan <br />River. If such a district were established. the State of New Mexico's <br />contribution would increase by about $ annually plus some capital <br />costs. Protection of water released for the protection of rare fish may be <br />accomplished by the State Engineer without creating a watermaster district. <br />If 50, New Mexico's contribution for this activity would be about $ <br />annually, plus some capital costs. <br /> <br />5.3.5 State of Colorado <br /> <br />The State of Colorado is already participating heavily in the recovery of <br />endangered fish species through the "Recovery Implementation Program for <br />Endiingered Fish Species in the Upper Colorado River Basin." Many of the <br />existing Program's efforts will contribute directly to recovery of endangered <br />fishes in the San Juan Basin. The State of Colorado will participate in the <br />Oversight and Biology Committees, and the estimated cost of this contribution, <br />including expenses, is $ per year. The State of Colorado will also <br />provide in-kind service in the amount of $ to match Section 6 funding <br />contributed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. <br /> <br />5.3.6 State of Utah <br /> <br />The State of Utah is participating in the existing Upper Basin Recovery <br />Program. The State has agreed to participate in the Oversight and Biology <br />Committees, and to ensure administration of instream flows necessary to <br />recover endangered fish species in the San Juan River in Utah. The estimated <br />cost of this in-kind contribution is $ per year, including instream <br />flows administration. In addition, Utah will provide $_____ per year of in- <br />kind services to match Section 6 funding by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br />Service. <br /> <br />44 <br />
