To determine this <br />attitude the Distriot recently oonducted a mail survey to find <br />(1) reasons why individuals have not signed for Ute taps, and <br />(2) when and if they expeot to become Ute users. A double <br />postcard type questionaire was mailed to potential, unsigned <br />Ute users, for whom mailing addresses could be obtained. The <br />basic mailing list was compiled by appropriate modifications <br />of the electric billing lists of the Grand Valley Rural Power <br />Lines Association, and from a mail box survey of certain areas <br />outside their service area. <br /> <br />On May 9, 1962, 1,120 of these questionaires were mailed. <br />Of this number, 21 were returned by the Post Office beoause of <br />insufficient address, leaving a total of 1,099 which were <br />presumably received by the addressee. Although a total of 371, <br />or 33.76%, were returned, only 240, or 21.83%, completed that <br />portion of the questionaire relative to beooming a Ute Water <br />user at a future date. A tabulation and analysis of these 240 <br />replies is provided in Table A-V. <br /> <br />Table C-I shows the percentage of replies for the various <br />categories, and then applies this percentage against the total <br /> <br />- 25 - <br />
