The Irrigation cost would <br />be $41,910,000 and recreation costs would be $11,861,000 with $2,630,000 repaid by the state. <br /> <br />Operation. Maintenance and Replacement <br /> <br />Operation, maintenance and replacement of the Irrigation facilities would be the responsi- <br />bi lity of a local sponsor. <br />Operation, maintenance and replacement of the recreation and fish and wi Idl ife faci Iltles <br />would be the responsibi lity of a non-federal entity. <br /> <br />Loca I I nterest and Support <br /> <br />Local Interest in this project is presently concerned with flood prevention and control <br />and present interest in other functions is not widely evident. <br /> <br />Existlnq Resource Development in the Area <br /> <br />Water resource development is rather limited in this area. No nearby project irrigation <br />has been developed. <br />A few flood protection faci I Itles have been developed in this area. Existing works are for <br />local protection and consist mostly of channel straightening and some diking around towns. <br /> <br />Effeci on Water Supplv in Project Area <br /> <br />Operation of this project would include sufficient releases to meet al I existing down- <br />stream water rights. The installation of the project would decrease the average flow of the <br />Elkhorn River below Warnervi I Ie Diversion Dam about 40 percent causing an adverse effect on the <br />fishery immediately below the point of diversion. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2-14 <br />
