Construction of a pipeline "to deliver pro-
ject waters to the community would have minor imp~ct on the environ-
ment.

The Moon lake Electric Association may be a customer for water
from the project for use in a thermoelectric power plant which would
have beneficial impacts on the economy and the environment. Supply-
ing project waters to oil shale and coal developments would have im-
pacts on the environment to the extent that delivery systems would
need to be constructed.

Greatly renewed interest in fishing and camping will be a
stimulus to the economy and to some extent affect the environment.
Traffic will increase on the highway and roads, disposal of solid
waste and sanitary wastes will be required, and camping and parking
facilities will be needed. Fishing will improve downstream as a
result of clearer water and the maintenance of minimum in-stream
flows.

The alternative of adding power generation facilities to the
project would also enhance the economy by providing an additional
electric power source to Rangely and local industries. Trans-
mission lines would be required to deliver the electricity generaterl.
The construction of thes.e lines would be an impact on the environ-
ment.

III-6
