On the basis of the
assessed valuation of the subsidstrict in 1979, at the five mills
rate about $890,000 per year could be available from this source.
This will be more than offset by increases in valuation resulting
from construction of various industrial plants and mines that may
be served by the storage water and by increased production from
newly irrigated lands and from lands receiving supplemental irri-
gation water.

The Town of RangelY would be impacted by 50 or more construc-
tion employees and their families for as long as three years.
Being temporary in nature such impact would affect vacancies in
rental units, trailer parks, and mobile homes. If there were no
vacancies in facilities of this type, pressures would be generated
for development of such facilities. There would be an increase in
traffic on CSH 64 and the town and county roads duri~g the construc-
tion period.

Noise would greatly increase during the construction period
from operation of heavy equipment and from blasting operations.

C. Use Impacts

Beneficial impacts from the project will come from use of the
water as proposed. New lands put into irrigation and those re-
ceiving supplementary irrigation water less those farmlands taken
by the project will increase the benefits from agriculture -- both
directly to the farmers and indirectly to the economy of the com-
munity. The construction of a delivery system of canals and ditches
would effect the environment. Details of these benefits and impacts
are discussed in the Feasibility Report (1).

111-5

'"

~

A;"~h~~
