<br />o G : .; 0 7 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~;.- <br />/ <br /> <br />Those Secretarial determinations contained in the draft 2002 AOP include: I) storage <br />equalization and the avoidance of spills' will control the annual releases from Glen Canyon Dam; 2) in <br />accordance with the Interim Surplus Guidelines, the full domestic surplus criterion will govern the <br />operation of Lake Mead; 3) any Lower Division state may be allowed to utilize water apportioned to, <br />but not used by, another Lower Division state; and 4) Mexico will be allowed to schedule the delivery <br />of 1.5 maf of water during calendar year 2002. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />\ \ <br /> <br />'-'-"" ) <br /> <br />The next meeting of the Colorado River Management Work Group to consider the 2002 AOP <br />is scheduled to be held on August 28'" and the final consultation meeting with the Basin states <br />representatives is scheduled to be held on September 26'". A copy of the press release is included in the handout materiaL <br /> <br />Well1on-Mohawk Transfer Act <br /> <br />As an information item, included in the handout material is a copy of a notice from <br />Reclamation announcing its intention to convene two public meetings, to be held on August 15\h and <br />16'", to receive input on the scope of the environmental documents for the transfer of certain works, <br />facilities, and lands within or adjacent to, the Gila Project to the Wellton-Mohawk Irrigation and <br />Drainage District (District). TIiis conveyance of title was authorized by the Wellton-Mohawk Transfer <br />A.ct of June 20, 2000, (P.L. 106-221). Associated with the conveyance of title to the Gila Project the <br />District has expressed an interest in purchasing certain acquired, public, and withdrawn lands. ,The <br />v <br />comment period on the scope of the environmental impact analysis ends on August 30, 200jo. <br /> <br />3 <br />
