<br />1888 <br /> <br />Twin Lakes and Mt. Elbert Forebay (a single purpose storage facility for <br />pumped-storage peak power development) were operated for regul ation of <br />Project and non-Project water on a service basis, as well as for the <br />operation of Mt. Elbert Pumped-Storage Powe\plant. <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir was operated for regulation of Project and non-Project <br />water on a servi ce bas i s, as we 11 as for flood contro 1, fi sh and <br />wildlife, and recreation purposes. <br /> <br />III. HYDROLOGIC CONDITIONS AND MAJOR WEATHER EVENTS - WATER YEAR 1988 <br /> <br />Runoff on the West Slope was near normal with inflow to Ruedi Reservoir <br />at 108,200 acre-feet (82 percent of normal). West Slope imports to the <br />Arkansas River Basin were restricted due to high ~torage levels in the <br />East Slope System. Total imports were 13,480 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Maximum temperature at Meredith occurred o~ July 14, 1988 with 880, the <br />minimum temperature was recorded at _270 dn January 21, 1988. Maximum <br />precipitation from snow was recorded on January 5, 1988 with 0.46 inch <br />of moisture and 14 inches of snowfall. Maximum precipitation from rain <br />occurred in the three day period of September 12-14 with 1. 49 inches of <br />rain. <br /> <br />The Arkansas River Basin runoff was below ,normal on the entire system. <br />Turquoise Lake and Twin Lakes native runoff was about 75% and 58% <br />respectively. Pueblo Reservoir inflow Was !about 74% of normal. <br /> <br />Maximum temperature at Sugar Loaf occurred on July IS, 1988 with 790, <br />the minimum temperature was recorded at -230 on January 20, 1988. <br />Maximum precipitation from snow was recorded on November 16, 1987 with <br />0.60 inch of moisture from 8 inches of snow. Maximum precipitation from <br />rain occurred on May 20, 1988 with 0.93 inqh of rain. <br />. ! <br />Twi n Lakes maximum temperature was 820 on July 14, 1988 and mimimum <br />temperature was a _230 on January 20, 198$. Maximum precipitation was <br />recorded at 1.48 inches on June 25, 1988i Maximum precipitation from <br />snow was recorded on February 3,1988 with five inches of snow and <br />0.12 inch of moisture. <br /> <br />At Pueblo Reservoir, the maximum temperature occurred on July IS, 1988 <br />with a 1020 reading. The minimum temperature reading of _70 was <br />recorded on December IS, 1987. Climatological readings indicate the <br />maximum amount of precipitation was recorded on June 28, 1988 with <br />1.16 inches of moi sture. On December 28, 1987 a fi ve inch snow recorded <br />0.44 inch of moisture. <br /> <br />IV. REPORT ON OPERATIONS DURING WATER YEAR 1988 <br /> <br />A.
