<br />Since July 1, 1947, and including the West Basin Municipal Water
<br />District, the annexation of which was completed oJ uly 23, 1948. the
<br />area of the Metropolitan Water District has been increased by
<br />70.55 square miles_ Table 1 gives the area, population. and assessed
<br />valuation of real and personal property and property of utilities
<br />subject to taxation of all constituents of The Metropolitan Water
<br />District of Southern California. The annexation of the West Basin
<br />District occurred too late to be included in the tax levy of 1948-49_
