15

.

099i
Turquoise Lake

Inflow to the lake for water year 1973 will be from four sources:
Homestake project imports, Busk-Ivanhoe imports, Fryingpan-Arkansas
project imports, and native flow of Lake Fork Creek. Estimates of
this inflow from Busk-Ivanhoe imports and native Lake Fork Creek
flow were made by use of historical records and probability analysis.
The 10-, 50-, and 90-percent chance values were obtained from the
probability curves shown on exhibits 1 and 2 and are considered to
represent the reasonable minimum, most probable, and reasonable maxi-
mum inflows, respectively. Monthly distribution of these values was
made in accordance with historical records. The imports by the Home-
stake project were determined from factors other than runoff. Frying-
pan-Arkansas project imports for the three conditions are derived
from exhibit 2, discussed above.

Minimum Required Reservoir Releases

Ruedi Reservoir

.

The fish bypass, not to exceed the stream inflow, is 39 c.f.s. for
the month of November through April, and 110 c.f.s. for May through
October. At the request of State and Federal fish and wildlife repre-
sentatives, the fish bypass for the period October 1 through Novem-
ber 15 will be 100 c.f.s. to facilitate the brown trout hatch. At
the request of Colorado River interests, August bypass will be at a
minimum of 150 c.f.s.

Turquoise Lake

When the project goes into full operation, or when Pueblo Reservoir
is able to store any upstream releases, fish releases are to be
maintained at 10 c.f.s. for October and 3 c.f.s. for November through
April, or natural inflow to the reservoir, whichever is lesser. Irri-
gation releases are estimated to be sufficient for fish flow during
the irrigation season.

During the interim period before Pueblo Reservoir is completed it may
on rare occasions be necessary for short periods of time to have no .
storage called out of the Reservoir and the CF&I Corporation legally
storing all of the natural inflOWS. During such infrequent periods,
depending on existing circumstances at the time, the Bureau will con-
sider the release of project water from storage in order to main~ain a
live stream below the Reservoir of up to 3 c.f.s.

.
