<br />~ <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />001761 <br /> <br />Final cost estimates for all project features of the <br />Bluestone Project near Grand Junction have been approved for use <br />in the proposed feasibility report and supporting appendices. <br />Financial and economic analyses and report preparation are in <br />progress but are awaiting receipt of final data from cooperating <br />agencies. Completion of the proposed feasibility report scheduled <br />for October 1968 will be delayed 4 to 6 months. <br /> <br />On the Grand Mesa Project near Cedaredge, plan formulation <br />studies are essentially complete and the geological investigations, <br />collection of agricultural economic data, and preparation of design <br />data are in progress. Other studies nearing completion are water <br />supply and land classification and drainage investigations. Co- <br />ordination with the Forest Service, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, <br />Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, and the Colorado Department <br />of Game, Fish, and Parks on multiple-purpose aspects of the plan <br />are continuing. The proposed feasibility report is scheduled to be <br />completed by the end of FY 1970. <br /> <br />Feasibility investigations consisting of plan formulation <br />studies, including possible power generation at Taylor Park Res- <br />ervoir, and the collection of water supply field data are still in <br />progress on the Upper Gunnison Project near Gunnison. The pro- <br />posed feasibility report is scheduled for completion in FY 1971. <br /> <br />The Yellow Jacket Project proposed feasibility report <br />was completed early in October and distributed to federal, state, <br />and local agencies for comment. The project would regulate flows <br />of the North Fork of White River and tributaries of Yampa River to <br />provide irrigation water for 23,610 acres of land near Meeker, <br />develop 55,500 acre-feet of water annually for municipal and indus- <br />trial purposes, and provide recreation and fish and wildlife <br />benefits. <br /> <br />Feasibility investigations on the Basalt Project near <br />Glenwood Springs are proceeding satiSfactorily. The proposed fea- <br />sibility report is scheduled for completion at the end of FY 1971. <br /> <br />Feasibility investigations have now been initiated on the <br />Lower Yampa Project (formerly identified as the Juniper and Great <br />Northern Projects) near Craig. A notice of initiation of inves- <br />tigation is being sent to all federal, state and local agencies <br />advising of the investigations and soliciting their comments, <br />suggestions and expressions of their interest. Initially, studies <br />will be made of the mineral, land and water resources along the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
