<br /> <br />'" ,~,,,,,, .;';, <br />;.~~;:, <br /> <br />Chapter 4: Consultation and Coordination <br /> <br />Public Scoping Letter <br /> <br />A public scoping letter, dated August 8, 2002, was released by the Eastern Colorado Area Office in <br />Loveland, Colorado to interested parties. The purpose of this letter was to receive public input on the <br />proposed action (Construction Alternative). Comments received from the letters were considered in <br />the development of the Draft EA. <br /> <br />The comments received from the scoping letter are summarized in Chapter 1. <br /> <br />Consultation <br />Fish and Wildlife Service <br /> <br />It was determined that, because the proposed action would not develop a new water project, or result <br />in operational changes, coordination under the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act was not applicable. <br /> <br />Attached in Appendix A is the letter dated October 24, 2002, to the FWS requesting a list of current <br />T &E species in the Pueblo Reservoir area, and a listing of species received by Reclamation dated <br />January 2, 2003,which shows T&E species throughout Colorado, listed by County. Reclamation used <br />the species listed for Pueblo, Chaffee, Lake, and Fremont Counties in its evaluation. <br /> <br />Cultural Resources <br /> <br />Reclamation consulted with the State Historic Preservation Officer, Advisory Council on Historic <br />Preservation, and other interested parties as described in the Cultural Resource Section (See Appendix <br />B). <br /> <br />21 <br />
