S. Army Corps of Engi neers, dated <br />November, 1977, specifies six potential general sources and routes <br />of water transfer studies for evaluation in accordance with P.L. <br />94-587, Section 193; <br /> <br />Now therefore be it resolved that the High Plains Study Council <br />concurs in the joint studies by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers <br />and the Economi c Development Admi ni strati on, General Contractor, <br />and recommends that the Corps initiate cost and environmental eva- <br />luations of four alternative sources, general routings, and major <br />terminal storage points as follows: <br /> <br />**a. Alternative 2 (From Missouri River at Fort Randall Dam, <br />southwestward through Nebraska to Eastern <br />Colorado, then south to Southern High <br />Plains, with service to member states) <br /> <br />(1) Source - Missouri River at Fort Randall Dam; <br /> <br />(2) Major terminal storage - South Fork Republican River <br />near Bonny Reservoir, Arkansas River near Dodge City, <br />Kansas, Canadian River near Canadian, Texas, and Bull <br />Lake near Littlefield, Texas; <br /> <br />(3) Pumping rates to evaluate - to be determined; <br /> <br />(4) Annual pumpage - to be determined; and <br /> <br />(5) Instream or base flow - to be determined. <br /> <br />b. Alternative 3 (From Arkansas westward through Texas to New <br />Mexico, with service to member states) <br /> <br />(1) Sources <br />(in series) <br /> <br />- White River at Clarendon, Arkansas, <br />Arkansas River at Pine Bluff, Arkansas <br />Ouachita River at Camdem, Arkansas, <br />. Red Ri ver at Ful ton, Arkansas <br />Sulphur River at Darden, Texas, and <br />Sabi ne Ri ver at Tatum, Texas; <br /> <br />(2) Major terminal storage - Bull Lake near Littlefield, <br />Texas; <br /> <br />(3) Pumpi ng rates to eval uate (beyond most western source <br />poi nt) - to be determi ned; <br /> <br />(4) Annual pumpage (by source) - to be determined; and <br /> <br />(5) Instream or base flow - to be determined. <br />
