<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />fiit-:' ~.1~_ <br /> <br />o Coordination and interaction with adjacent states of origin or impact. <br /> <br />HIGH PLAINS STUDY COUNCIL ROLE <br /> <br />The High Plains Study Council provided overall policy direction for the <br />water transfer studies and formal i zed much of that policy into specific <br />guidance to the Corps, the General Contractor and the states through Council <br />Resol utions No.6, dated January 16, 1980 and No.8, dated April 17, 1980. <br />The purpose and use of those resolutions are examined in the following <br />chapter. <br /> <br />THE STATE'S ROLE <br /> <br />Each of the six study states examined existing and ongoing state <br />planning efforts to determine whether surplus waters were available within <br />the state for di versi on to the Hi gh Pl a i ns Regi on. Results of the state <br />studies are detailed in Chapter Six of the General Contractor's Final Report <br />dated March 1982. A general summary of the state water transfer studies is <br />provided in Chapter Four of this report. <br /> <br />9 <br />
