The calculations include, in addi-
tion to the Boulder generators, transformers, and line,
the receiving station transformers, 240,000 kva. of svn-
chronous condensers and 150,000 kva. of steam plant ?enera-

tors loaded to 60,000 kw. If 150,000 kva. of steam genera-

tors at the receiving end of the line had been assumed as

carryine- hi@:her loads, the "transient" limit of the two
circuits would have been raised. Likewise, if the steam-
driven generators had been assumed as not carrying load or
had not been included in the calculations, the "transient"

stability limit would have been reduced.

When a third circuit is built the increment of

additional capacity 1I'i11 be 150,000 kW., which capacit"
results from the fact that it is still possible to tie a
thir1 line in parallel with the other two circuits and
keon within the limit of rating of the present equipment.
This is not a figure directly assignable to the performance

A.
