The Bureau of Reclamation and the <br /> <br />Public Service Company of Colorado are to be congratulated upon the <br /> <br />excellent cooperation they have shown in solving this very complex <br /> <br />transmission problem in Colorado. <br />New Mexico <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Modified Transmission System for the C.R.S.P. Fig. 1, <br /> <br />included one 230 kv. circuit from Shiprock to Albuquerque. The <br /> <br />Public Service Company of New Mexico has an existing 230 kv. circuit <br /> <br />from Albuquerque to Ambrosia Lake, and plans to construct one 230 kv. <br /> <br />circuit from Ambrosia Lake to Four Corners. <br /> <br />The Company has submitted a proposal to the Bureau for <br /> <br />wheeling up to a maximum of 140,000 kilowatts of C.R.S.P. power from <br /> <br /> <br />Four Corners to Albuquerque. (See Fig. 3~.. If the Bureau desires,a <br /> <br /> <br />part of the 140,000 kilowatts of power will be delivered by the <br /> <br /> <br />Company at Ambrosia Lake. During the first 42 years of service, <br /> <br />the rate for wheeling will be 0.7 mills per kw. hour. After 42 years, <br /> <br />and through the 86th year, the rate for wheeling will be the actual <br /> <br />cost of operation, maintenance replacement and taxes (exclusive of <br /> <br />income taxes). Line losses associated with the C.R S.P. power wheeled <br /> <br />over the Company's Four Corners-Ambrosia Lake-Albuquerque line are <br /> <br />to be borne by the Bureau. The minimum annual charge shall not be <br /> <br />less than the total of the 12 monthly maximum rates of wheeling <br /> <br />times $0.28, and in no case less than $300,000 per year. <br /> <br />16 <br />
